Greetings and welcome to the fantasy worlds of the Legends of Kralis!  Legends of Kralis is the first complete work for the Talarius Gaming System, presenting all the rules needed for exciting roleplaying in the fantasy genre.

Legends of Kralis is a high fantasy roleplaying game tailored for medieval-style fantasy worlds.  These worlds combine the feel of a late Renaissance period with the mysteries of magic found in literature and myth.  Set in the World of Kralis, Legends of Kralis provides a detailed setting or can be easily incorporated into your favorite fantasy world.

Legends of Kralis is customizable for various styles of play, providing guidelines to keep any customized rules compatible with the core system.  Several magic systems and psionics are detailed, a smooth combat system that fosters tactical creativity, social conflict rules, and guidelines that reward players for including character goals and motivations into the game.

Seek out magical artifacts in the lost ruins left behind by an ancient race.  Battle fierce monsters to save the local village.  Try your wits at intrigue and diplomacy in the courts of the noblest kings or travel the roads of Kralis in search of fame and fortune!  Legends of Kralis is your guide to fantastic adventure.  The world of Kralis awaits you!

This is the Legends of Kralis Roleplaying Game that is to be used with the world of Kralis. However, it can be used with any game world, and is easily ported into those worlds.  It is also the design-flagship for the Talarius Player and Talarius GameMaster.  Like all other role-playing games, Legends of Kralis is an imaginative, social experience that is meant to engage players in a fantasy world filled created from their imaginations as well as that of their GameMaster.   It is an ongoing gaming and activity that players spend many hours at like that of other hobbies such as online gaming, or your Friday night poker game.  As a social engagement it is meant to spent together with friends on a regular basis, sometimes for years.  Players are meant to create heroes, fantasy role characters, that they use to explorer an ever expanding, ongoing adventure.  They should work together to defeat challenges, which range from the common wolf to great dragons to simple chest traps, while growing in achievement.  The game itself offers a never ending supply of possibilities and endless choices as they are not bound by requirements or restrictions of a set environment. In this game the only limitation is the players imagination.

Players choose a specific character that they are going to portray.  Each of these characters have unique abilities, attributes, and skills that they use to explore the world around them.  All characters are created from a set number of races that the player chooses.  They can be modified and adjusted to fit a player's specific likes and dislikes.  These characters, also called Player Characters or adventurers, are the who, the actors in the adventures and campaigns that your GameMaster creates to challenge you and your Player Character.  The more your adventurer partakes in the great adventure of the game, he will gain more experience and in turn become more and more powerful.

Both player and GameMasters use the core rulebook - Legends of Kralis -  to create and run your characters, as well as create and run the campaign.  As players, it is important to remember that as a player character you can attempt to do anything that you can imagine, so long as it fits within the scenario that the GameMaster layouts, which in reality is not all that much.  You may attempt to sneak past some guards, bargain with a shop keeper, get into a fight with the local bruiser or attempt to steal the royal crown.  This is all resolved using the Talarius Core Mechanic

It is up to the GameMaster (GM) to setup the scenarios, the adventures and to judge over all that occurs during the game. As with most RPGs, the GM is the opposition, both the bad guy and the cranky peddler, and it is his job to test your character's strengths and weaknesses.  He does so through the adventure.  The GM is at heart the master of the universe, but it is in his best interests to judge the game world in a fair and non-bias method within the bounds of the game rules.  It his job to provide excitement, good pacing, and the whole of the adventure.
