Once called the Curita Mountains these mountains originally stretched from the border of Iztalik southward to the Sea of Dragons. In 1254 B.F.A. in a climatic battle between two demonic hordes in the DeepEarth beneath these mountains, a 200 mile section of DeepEarth collapsed pulling down with it a large middle section of the mountains separating them into the Bayreesh Mountains and the Blue Mountains.

The Bayreesh Mountains are a low rising mountain range with its highest peaks just reaching 12,000 feet. Situated as they are in the middle of northern Kralis separating Solthania from Alisanos, the mountains are mostly temperate climate even as they approach Iztalik, only at the very high peaks does the climate change to sub-arctic conditions. This has allowed the mountains to foster an abundance of life including a great deal of variety of monsters.

The mountains are also abundant in natural resources including iron, silver and gold. This has lead to a great number of mines being constructed through out the mountain range. Many of these have become deserted by the miners, leaving them to become home to monsters of all kinds. Many of these mines have also become home to various dwarven clans, which has often sparked mini-dwarven conflicts over whose mine is whose.

The Bayreesh Mountains are also home to several hundred lakes, most of which are several hundred feet deep and have been known to support mereel and merrow.
