Rising from the plains of the white worm, Carin Dhuum Hill stands alone, the only major rise in the plains for hundreds of miles. It was here that the dark sorcerer Szodrin the Necromancer built his great black tower known as Dhuum. It was once a huge keep incorporating fourteen floors and ten levels of cellars, labyrinths and dungeons below. At over 70' in diameter and nearly 350' tall, it dominated the plains. It was surrounded by a high, thick wall and was pierced by a single iron gate. Made from grey-black granite it rose like a shadowy spectre.

The Tower of Dhuum was very, nearly destroyed by the wrath of Azahak nearly half the tower was destroyed, its crumbled remains scattered around the tower, and its thick walls cracked and half fallen over. It has since become a home to many types of monsters. It is rumored that a large shadow dragon has taken up residence in the depths of the tower, building a vast network of tunnels that connect with the various labyrinths and cellars.
