Forest of Mist
From World of Kralis
The Forest of Mist is a dense forest filled with pine, fur and cedar. Most of the low forest is filled with a thin white mist that clings to the ground and low bushes for most of the day. Whirls of the mist play through the forest as wind coming off the coast and pass through the forest. The forest is divided into two distinct parts, the western and the eastern. The western forest is is thick with pine and fur, and with the constant storms blowing in from the coast is often very wet. This wetness helps create the low laying mist in the western portion of the forest. The eastern portion of the forest is drier, by comparison to the western portion, yet, the thin mist pervades this portion of the forest as well.
As it takes up nearly one-third of the whole of Kraz Nal Tyr many make their home within the forest, either in naturally occurring glades or in man-made glades. However, for the most part those that live within the forest build their villages or homes by incorporating the forest itself. Most villages are built predominately within a few miles of the forests edge, as the deeper forest is home to many a diverse foul creature including a small clan of evil earth dragons that have made their home within the small rolling knolls in the center of the forest. The forest is well known for its red wood, better known as red iron. It is an incredibly dense, hard wood similar to that of iron wood in the Southern Realms.
