Considered by many to be the second largest orc nation, Nathak straddles the northern ridges of the Baligrog Mountains and borders the Duchy of Harr and the Kingdom of Panthias. It is the first and oldest orc nation having been established in 750 B.F.A.

The region is made up of the lower half of the Great Forest Storhet and the Hills of Bakladak. The nation runs northwest to southeast along the edge of the Baligrog Mountains extending from the Sea of Dragons to the Sea of Tears and the Bay of Sorrows. It is a dark place as the earth has been burnt and dug up through out the ages. There are countless holes where the orcs retreat during the day for rest, and thousands of tunnels that lead in all directions. The land, other than the southern portion of Storhet, is free from any plant life larger than a scrub bush, dark green weeds and the occasional patch of thorny grass.

The clouds that hang low over the Baligrog Mountains helps keep this region in a constant shadow. It is a wet region as thick rain often falls from the storms above the Mountains.

Since its inception the orc kingdom has been at war with Harr and Panthias over border land, but yet it has remained in tact by the sheer force of will of the numerous orc kings that have controlled the nation.

There are no cities, very few towns and only a handful of villages, for the most part bands of orcs roam the area traveling like nomads here and there. The only true establishment of the nation is the Citadel of the Raven.

Built in the Hills of Bakladak the Citadel of the Raven is a huge place built from black granite stone. The Citadel was built long ago by the ancient Renarthians as place to watch over the Pass of Gartuk that leads into the Accursed Lands of Vishraan. After the fall of the Renarthian civilization, the citadel stood empty for several centuries until it was slowly filled with monsters of various kinds until King Gurthlag Ironfist and his tribe of orcs came from the pass and over took the citadel in 745 B.F.A.

Nathak has always been a sore point to the people of Harr and Panthias. For the most part the three nations leave each other alone, yet there are the occasional raids by the orcs into both Harr and Panthias that occurs when a new king takes over, which leads to a few years of skirmishes as the northern kingdoms attempt to drive back the orcs.

Cities, Towns and Villages

Kructain

Perhaps the largest town in Nathak, Kurctain is the largest port of the orc nation. Boasting a population of 30,000 orcs, Kurctain is a thriving city of shipbuilders and pirates. It is more civilized than the rest of the Nathak, but this does not bode well for the town. Most of the orcs rely on the raiding ships that they sail for most of their livelihood. Yet, there are a number of masterful smithies that ply their trade forging weapons and armor that a few trading ships take to Hurlan, the Ice Kingdoms of Naaryn and the Kingdom of Nashatras.

Ughor

The largest village in Nathak is Ughor which is situated on the shores of the Sea of Dragons. It is a large fishing/pirate village that is on the verge of becoming a small town. It is filled with orcs that are busy building ships to sail the sea, both as merchant ships and as raiders. It is the second largest port in Nathak next to Kructain on the shores of the Bay of Sorrows. It was from this village that orcs in 225 B.F.A. began to raid the coastal towns and villages of the the various nations of the Sea of Dragons. Thousands of orcs left Nathak to establish the real of Ni-Ilik north of Kal Phyriax.

While it is predominately filled with orcs, human pirates that sail the Sea of Dragons find a haven in this village as they trade their ill-gotten goods with the orcs. Many human captains have also found themselves at the mercy of the orcs.
