The Nexus Planes are transitive planes of existence that help separate the various planes of existence from each other. A number of them have their origins within a specific plane and often travel through the plane. Each Nexus is also a conduit through which astral travelers may pass into the Celestial Omniverse beyond.

They are demi-planes of existence that are small and have limited space that come with their own rules like the planes of existence. They also exist has pathways from the Prima Terra into the Prima Celestia. There are fourteen different types of Nexus Planes.

Contents

Al-Risha

Al-Risha is an elemental plane of existence that combines the elements of air and fire into a plane of hot blowing ash. It is a plane of extremes within the elements of fire and air. It is filled with swirling tornadoes of hot burning ash over a plain of smoldering embers. This nexus connects most of the lower region of Hell, Prax Dyn, Orijux and Mitlan. It also is a transient plane between Discord and Hell.

Here great beasts of flame and smoke rise from the ashes. These often include the great phoenix, fire genii's and fire giants.

There are small islands of hard ground that rise above the plain that give travelers and those few inhabitants of the nexi a place to rest or store ill-gotten goods.

The River Styx

Like the Silver River, and the Faulx River, the River Styx is more than just a river. It is a continually altering and changing nexi that flows from the heart of Prax Dyn and flows between Prax Dyn, Hishnat, Kiltaryx, Prima Terra, and Hell. It is a river used to transport the souls of the evil and the vile from the Prima Terra into their eternal damnations within the planes of Neter-Kheret.

The River is also home to a number of foul beasts and creatures that lurk beneath its dark, cold waters waiting for a chance to grab a traveler from the ferry boats and devour them in the cold depths.

The Fields of Apus

The Fields of Apus are a legendary battle fields that makes their appearances on the Terra randomly. When a traveler comes across them they are littered with bodies, blood soaked ground and thick layers of smoke obscure a travelers vision. They are often the transitional planes between the Terra and the planes of The Bright Halls, Arbain, and Kiltaryx. It also tends to border the realms of Limbo and Chaos.

Ashen Path

The Ashen Path is a place of deep shadows that cling to travelers as they pass. There is absolutely no light along the Ashen Path, any light here is from magical spells, bobbing lanterns or brightly lit torches. The darkness is like a living, substantial thing that spreads away from the source of light just beyond the source. Because of this it is very difficult to see ahead on the Path. Many travelers have become lost while traveling the path, never be seen again. Unless a traveler has a specific magical item or way of distinguishing direction there is a high chance of them getting lost within the plane.

The plane connects to nearly all the planes, weaving its way between the planes. Many shadow abilities and spells pull their energy from this plane. While completely dark, there are a number of beasts that stalk this plane looking for lost travelers. Many of these creatures are shadow creatures from the Prima Etheras.

The Lake of Sands

Desolate, endless, and a test on any traveler, the Lake of Sands is a vast, open desert of white sands that seeps between the planes. It is a mild climate, though there is no moisture in the air, it is neither to hot nor to cold. Where there is no desert the earth is white, hard and full of slight cracks. Many beings make their way here for many reasons: escape, persecution, or even banishment.

The dunes shift occasionally as a portal opens to any number of the following planes: Urdgard, Pandemonium, Nyx, Hishnat, Chaos, and Nax.

Mizrata

Mizrata, the plane of eternal fire, or the Elemental Plane of Fire is alight with heat and fire. It is a place where the earth burns, trees are constantly burning, there are streams of lava and pools of burning water are everywhere.

It is a realm that is not hospitable to creatures, beings or travelers that are not able to stave off the intense heat or fire. Yet, many creatures make their home here: fire dragons, fire fae, fire elementals, demons, and fire geni.

The plane connects to a number of other planes: Hell, Urnuith, Svartal, and Juliso.

Caer Rodaium

Known as the Realm of Air, Caer Rodaium is the eternal plane of air. It is filled with big, billowy clouds, soft winds, and infinite space. It is perhaps the most comfortable and survivable plane of the Nexus planes, once a traveler gets used to the ever present sensation of falling, unless of course they have magical items, spells or wings by which to move about the plane. Many clouds actually become strongholds for many creatures that apply magic to them.

The plane is home to any number of creatures with wings or natural ability to fly. Many jinn make their homes here.

Caer Rodaium connects to all to the various planes of Syra Gaul, the Beastlands, Fynglum and Jutinheim.

Portals to this nexi often come in the form of thick, smokey banks of fog.

Ny Shar

Ny Shar is a plane of water. A never ending, eternally deep plane of water, a vast ocean of varying types water, frozen, hot, fresh water and salt. It is a plane where underwater life is at its most perfect. It is home to the leviathan, water elementals, a place of rest for the evil merrow, and the maleficent gawarro. It is where perfect beasts of the deep seas reside: gigantic sharks, kraken, giant octupi, and other monsters of the deep.

Portals into Ny Shar often appear as vast vortexes within bodies of water. Travelers here must have a way to survive or breath in water else they will drown. There are the occasional floating sea mounts that hover at various depths through out the entire plane. A few of these actually have large inner air pockets where lost travelers may attempt to hide in, but many of these are inhabited by other creatures.

Ny Shar borders the Beastlands, Jutinheim, and Urdgard.

Arcadium Sidus

Deep veins of red steel, gold and silver. Pockets of life hidden in rifts and lost caverns. Long, seemingly never ending tunnels. No sun, no moon, no stars by which to navigate. Arcadium Sidus is a plane of the element of earth. Where Ny Shar and Caer Rodaium are open, wide planes of elements, Arcadium Sidus is a plane of rock, stone, and soil, a solid plane of existence. It is a place of constricted movement, tunnels, vast caverns and hidden cities.

It is a place of earthquakes, shifting sands, and swallowing mud. it is a deadly plane where travelers may be cut off from a route by a sudden shift in the plane, swallowed whole by a opening beneath their feet or swept away by a flood of fine sand through a tunnel.

Arcadium Sidus is home to a number of beings including dwarves, gnomes, and acires. It is also inhabited by earth dragons, and the giant worm beasts holuthi.

The Silver River

Those of good heart and good souls that have died are whisked away on swan carved boats of white pine down the Silver River. Like the River Styx, that transports those souls of vile and evil beings, the Silver River delivers those that were of good heart to the planes of Syra Gual. It flows through Atylusi, and Ty Nor Iro and creates the Lake of Tears on that plane.

Many travelers can ben seen on their own boats leaving the Terra to travel into the vast planes of good. It is a warm river filled with untold numbers of aquatic life including mermen.

It runs its path between all the good planes of Syra Gaul and ends in the Lake of Tears.

The Faulx River

The Faulx River conveys the souls of those that have neither been extremely good or evil to the various planes as deemed by the deeds that they performed in life. It travels the planes of Syra Gaul, Arit Tura and Neter Kheret. It is a dark, red river that begins somewhere in the depths Jutinheim and moves between the realms that the Silver or Styx rivers do not. It is a river filled with various types of aquatic life both good and evil.

It is often covered in a layer of mist, obscuring the vision of any of those that travel the river.

Ceres Enyt

Ceres Enyt is a plane dominated by a mixture of all four of the major elements: Earth, Air, Water and Fire. It is a chaotic nexi where water is alight with fire, earth rains down in fiery clumps, whole forests of oak and elms grow deep within blue oceans. It is an amalgam of the elements. Very few travelers use this plane to move from one realm to another as it is very unstable. It borders each of the four elemental planes as well as Arbain, Pandemonium and Mitlan.

El-Haut

Similar to the planes of Nyx and Nax, the nexi plane of El-Haut is a barren, empty place devoid of any natural life. It is covered in an endless night. It is a place where life itself is attacked, drained of its positive forces and drawn into the very plane itself. It is a place where the dead rise and the souls of lost travelers are drawn into the Terra, it is a source of Negative Energy power.

It borders every known plane in the Omniverse. Portals to this nexi appear as black vertical vortexes.

Cahen Sihor

While El-haut is a nexi of Negative Energy, Cahen Sihor is the nexi of vibrant energy. A place where Positive Energy reigns, alive with ripples of energy. Cahen Sihor is in a continual flux of birth, creation and power. It is a place of brilliant yellow and white light, radiant energy that causes all things to be filled with an abundance of energy and renewal. Unless a traveler is prepared to enter this nexi, they are likely to go blind from the brilliance of the light as well as insane from the vibrancy of the plane. Like El-Haut, this nexi borders all known planes of existence.
