Pillar of Azahak

Rising a like giant from the Sazar Crys mountain range, the Pillar of Azahak is the largest mountain known in the Kingdom of Panthias. It rises an additional 5,000 feet above the other mountains that make up the range of the Sazar Crys. Besides its height, the Pillar of Azahak is known for the place that foul god Azahak first stepped on the world of Kralis before make his way to the lands commonly known as the Baronies of Vishraan where he waged the first great war of the gods against Elal and Gishra.

The pillar is complete devoid of any life, primarly because of its height and extreme cold weather, but also because the peak is dead from where the evil god first stepped a foul blackness oozes from the granite sides of the extreme top kill all that it touches. It is made up of steep granite faces and sheets of dark black ice. Beneath the surface of the pillar the core of the mountain is also devoid of life, the few that have attempted to dig their way through the stone have always met a horrible end as a thick black noxious gas fills the crevices and holes that lead to the DeepEarth Realms.

The pillar is also reportedly the home to a number of foul demons that do the bidding of the Lord of Darkness against the Kingdoms of Panthias and Nasatras and the northern lands. From far distances there can be seen a thick, black trail of smoke coming from near the summit. Many reports have stated that this smoke come from the eternal fires of death from within the bright ivroy-white keep. These fires are kept alive by the demons who stoke the flames by throwing the bodies of the dead and tortured they have conquored or killed in their raids into the Kingdoms of Panthias and Nashatras, as well as from the lands to the north.
