Prima Astrea
From World of Kralis
The Prima Astrea or Astral Plane is the interconnecting plane between the Prima Terra, the Celestial Omniverse and other planes. It is considered a transitive plane of existence that all beings must pass through to reach either the Prima, the Celestial or other planes.
It is an expansive plane of nothingness. It is a bright plane, silvery in nature. There are small islands of matter that exist here and there. This islands are often the bases and residence of creatures and adventurers that make their home within the Astral. The astral plane has no direction, there is no up or down, left or right. There is no gravity, but there is a sense of weight and mass. It is filled with conduits, and portal pools that allow travelers to enter and exit to other planes.
Traveling through the Astral is similar to swimming, travelers can push themselves in one direction and easily change that direction with a simple gesture of their body. Beings within the Astral are generally there in whole body, there are times that some spellcaster may be there in spirit form, but as a general rule when a being enters the Astral they are completely there.
Considered by many the road to everywhere, the Astral is filled with thousands of portals leading to many destinations. There are planar conduits, portal pools, and gateways that pop into and out of existence as they are called upon.
Conduits are silver tunnels that "burrow" through Astral linking locations on two different planes. These tunnels are warm to the touch, cylindrical tubes that have no opening in them as they stretch from one location to another. They exist for as long as they are needed and then as suddenly as they came into existence melt away into nothingness. Some Astral creatures are able to cut into a Planar Conduit and attack those that are passing through or even simply leave the Astral and enter another plane of existence.
Portal pools are large spots of color that allow travelers in the Astral to simply jump through and exit into a specific plane. The pools are one way and once a traveler jumps through they cannot come back through the pool.
