Shanty

The Shanty, the Slums, the Tent District, these and other choice words describe the world of the large outcropping of make shift buildings, tents and rundown hovels that exists just outside the Southern District and follows the Crown northward from the South Gate, past the Sun Gate and stopping at the base of the granite cliffs just south of the East Gate. It is a shabby run-down place where the poorest of the city have gathered creating a bustling, crime ridden shanty.

This outgrowth from the Southern District is built from the discarding boards, stone blocks and bricks that the city itself no longer needs. It is filled with twisting dirt streets, blind alleys, and dead ends. It is built upon the lowest of the hills, and has a number of entrances to various underground areas that are often controlled by the more unscrupulous of the city and the Shanty.
