Southern Realms

While Ta Los is a place filled with millions of peoples of all types of races, and is home to many great realms that hold fabulous nations and wealth kingdoms. There is no realm as popular, as old or as unique than that of the Southern Realms. The Southern Realms, also known in older texts as the Darkening Realms, is a place filled with ancient mysterious, lost civilizations and many places of wonder and horror.

Southern Geography

The Southern Realms are defined by a specific borders on all its sides. These borders have waxed and waned many times over the past ages, however, with the coming of the new age a sense of stability has been spreading among all the people of the south.

On the north, above Baar Dysh are the great mountains of Shadwug. These peaks are giants among mountains. They stretch from Sea of Ithangar to the southern spur of the Sea of Dragons. On the northern side of these mountains lies Garandor, the ancient kingdom of the Dwarven Empire. The mountains are huge, the highest peak, known as Dark Spire reaches into the air with a summit topping at 34,000 feet. The Shadwug Mountains are beautiful, made up of dark granite stone, lush forests, and thousands of small lakes, valleys and lost corridors. The only pass through these mountains travels beneath the shadow of the Dark Spire, it is called the Savage Corridor. It stretches for nearly 7 miles and is surrounded by sheer granite cliffs that nearly block out all the light from the sun. Only at noon, with the sun directly above the corridor does sunlight ever bathe the floor of this pass.

The southern borders are made up of the Hills of Kaada and the great forest of Hadeth that border the minotaur nation of Kaz Nakiur. The Southern Realms are bordered on the south also by the Sea of Magnara.

The east is defined by the Kingia Mountains, home to the kanus nation Kingia. Its tall, rounded peaks are covered in thick, heavy forests. There are several passes through these mountains that pass into the Eastern Realms.

The Southern Realms is also home to the Great Plains of Vajara, the Valley of Echoes and the Great Dale, as well as several other WildLands.

The whole of what people call the Southern Realms are made up of six greater kingdoms, the orc nations of Nazaru and Baztha and the two aelwyn “nations” of Adraros and Telemor on either side of the City-State of Dardura Sheva.
