The Legion

The Legion, also known as the Dark Sword, began simply enough in Dardura Sheva, as a group of merchants whose goals where to control the flow of trade in the city and the regions around the great city. Since its inception in 960 S.R. Year of the Black Star it has grown to include thieves, assassins, spies, a large army and has garnered the support of several dark deities: Mala and Nyraxia. It also has known alliances with the Church of Decay. In 1295 S.R. Year of the Golden Moon, it was confronted by the Knights of Elal and the Knights of Dardura, over its increasing activity into slavery through out the region. This led to the War of Darkness as the Legion mounted its defenses on the outskirts of Dardura Sheva. The Legion lost and was driven north towards the Sea of Dragons where they, defeated and broken, established the city of Akor on the Isle of Tsunoro in the southern half of the the Sea of Dragons.

Since their defeat they have slowly increased in strength and threat to all the regions of the Northern, Southern and Western Realms. They now have great influence across nearly half of Ta Los and achieved strong footholds in the Eastern Realms. They are heavily armed and well supplied, they are supported by a vast legion of spellcasters, priests of Mala, Azahak, and Nyraxia. There is also a strong support from the priests of Udarak.

They are feared by common folk and are not a foe that one challenges lightly. Like a thick web, they have their hands in a great deal of goings on through out the world. With the alliances of the Churches of Destruction, Decay and The Dark Way the Legion has grown into a formidable opponent of good. Its influence is likely to spread further as all the organizations seek to dominate the world.
