Via' Asthierr Mountains

Rising from the shores of the Sea of Dragons and occupying the majority of the Duchy of Harr, the Via' Ashthierr Mountains run along the western edge of Ta' Kanasiti separating the elven realms from Myanothia to the west. The mountains do not exceed a height of 7,500 feet at their highest which occurs in central Ta' Kanasiti.

The mountains themselves are very sculptured as the elves have spent thousands of years tending the vast forest that covers the mountains, shaping the trees, the bushes and the very glens and valleys to be a heightened reflection of what nature really is. The forest floor is kept extremely clean from debris, fallen trees and unnecessary hazards. It is by all accounts the perfect forest.

The elves have insured that the very flora and fauna of the Silver Star mountains is diverse. The Silver Star mountains consist primarily of deciduous broad leaf trees and evergreen needle leaf confers, but also contain the evergreen broad-leaf Silver Holly which dominates the higher elevations of the mountains.

The lower elevations of the mountains are covered in a variety of shrubs and herb plants which occupy the coves, stream valleys, and flood plains throughout the southern and central mountains. The southern half of the mountains, that reach to the Sea of Dragons, tends to consist of Black, Red, and White oaks, along with Ironwood oak.

There is an abundance of wildlife within the mountains everything from cave bears, to red deers and the elusive Cu Sith and Cuth Argus. But while it is home to a natural abundance of wildlife, it is also home to a number of vile creatures that call the mountains home, including hazor, karnacks, kaznark and the occasional kazinars that come up from the depths of DeepEarth.
